Job Summary:

The North Area Sales Tech Support will be responsible for carrying out nutritional, chemistry and variety trialing. The North area of the northwest division covers Reardan, Davenport, Harrington, Coulee City, Waterville, Okanogan, Walla Walla, Athena & Pendleton. Sales Tech Support provides assistance to the Seed Manager, Branch Managers and Crop Consultants/ Salesforce within the division testing new products, best practices, superior variety (mainly wheat and canola) and concerns present in the industry. The Sales Tech Support must have strong communication and excellent time management skills, as well as, ability to keep an organized workspace and reliable notes. The Sales Tech Support works closely with many individuals, including branch managers, crop consultants, outside company product reps and growers to identify products, practices and any research needs that may arise. The Sales Tech Support also conducts field demos, is responsible for timely release of trial data and results and maintaining all trials and equipment.

Job Duties:

  • Maintaining all agronomy equipment
  • Keeping updated on new industry products and practices
  • Maintains all trials from start to finish- including weighting seed & planting, seasonal spraying, harvesting and final clean up spraying
  • Keeping reliable and timely agronomy notes on each trial
  • Researches and responds to technical inquiries
  • Publishes and distributes periodic summaries of agronomic observations and research
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Knowledge of research protocol, ability to seek out assistance when necessary
  • Serve as a technical sales resource for Crop Consultants on grower calls
  • Identify specific nutritional needs and opportunities coming from the field
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Able to manage time well and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work on tractors, combines, drills, etc.
  • Agricultural based degree desired
  • CDL required, may be negotiable if willing to get one
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Some overnight travel required
