East Region Seed Manager

Position Title:  Region Seed Manager

Department:  Region Administration/Sales

Reports To:  Region Manager, East Region

 

Key Tasks:

  •  Effectively sell the value of seed sales growth while building a high sales performance team through a positive coaching culture
  • Assume accountability for seed sales volume and seed profitability of the Region and designated Divisions.
  • Develop and implement Region seed business plans with Region Manager, manage forecasting, inventory management, set business direction, and coordinate follow-ups with designated Divisions and/or Branches.
  • Implement, promote, and communicate seed marketing programs and customer incentive programs
  • Secure best position on cost and seek funding when necessary from suppliers to ensure our competitive position is favorable and our margins secure.
  • Build Dyna-Gro Brand product and technical confidence and awareness throughout the selling organization
  • Actively manage seed inventory concerns as appropriate to ensure our success of meeting business objectives
  • Must have ability to manage, teach, and lead Branch personnel
  • Maintain a working relationship with all designated Seed Partners
  • Support Personnel to effectively implement Division seed policy and  procedures
  • Anticipate and recognize changes and react to new opportunities in the marketplace
  • Assist branches in finding seed products not readily available.
  • Maintain appropriate records and communicate current activities and results to Region Manager
  • Monitor trait products and refuge stipulations, and monitor and enforce technology reporting.
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints
  • Lead and Collaborate with other Division Seed Managers by setting the direction for the Region and to ensure maximization of services and information
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all branch employees
  • Ensure Division Seed Mangers conduct annual Division seed sales performance reviews
  • Effectively demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, assertiveness, and results orientation
  • Have ability to work in a fast paced changing environment
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Recruit/promote high level employees for branches
  • Ability to lead and manage other employees
  • Serve as an integral part of the Region Leadership Team
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills along with leadership abilities and interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Safety – Maintain safe working conditions, promote EHS programs and report any unsafe seed working conditions to Region Seed Manager and Division Manager
  • Reliable and regular job attendance
  • Travel may be required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • The incumbent should possess a degree in an Agriculture related field or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the agriculture industry.
  • Experience in directing, implementing, and monitoring seed programs preferred.
  • Experience leading, training, and managing employees.
  • To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must have willingness to travel and live/work in a rural environment.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
