Seasonal Field Technician – Watrous, SK
CPS is seeking energetic, safety minded, and motivated individuals for 4 available positions (One March-Oct & three May-Aug) to work as Summer Research Assistants at our Research, Development, and Innovation facility located at Watrous, SK. As a member of our R&D team you will have the opportunity to increase your agronomic knowledge and gain an understanding of commercial crop production in Western Canada. Although our focus is primarily on canola breeding, you will have the opportunity to work with other crops such as wheat, barley, and Soybean. You will also gain experience with safe operation of farm machinery and driving a truck and trailer. CPS offers a competitive salary with paid overtime. Research is an important and often overlooked aspect of the agricultural industry. When joining our team, you will get to be involved in the development of new lines of canola that will eventually be sold to growers.
Through small plot trials, data integrity is maintained by proper and safe seed set up, seeding, spraying, weeding, etc. Don’t know what any of that is? Don’t worry, we will teach you and you will learn a ton.
Travel is required with this job but we will pay your overtime and for lunch when on the road.
