Job Description

Crop Production Services (CPS) in Centerville, SD is looking for a Custom Applicator/Truck Driver. The primary role will be as a Custom Applicator.  Proper application of crop protection products and dry fertilizer are required.  Experience in semi-tractor driving, self-propelled sprayers and dry fertilizer floaters are a desire.  Safety is a top priority when working for CPS and critical value for this job.

Job Duties: 

Essential Functions    

  • Responsible for keeping field equipment clean and in safe operating condition.
  • Responsible to apply the correct amount of product to each acre and in a manner consistent with the product label.
  • Requires mixing, loading, and application of pesticides/fertilizers
  • Performs daily vehicle inspections
  • Ability to crosscheck products, rates and timing effectiveness vs. targeted/non targeted pest/crops.
  • Keep abreast of the dangers and hazards of products and take proper precaution.
  • Complete application records as required by the Company and government regulations
  • Operates computers on equipment and familiar with GPS equipment
  • Handles and delivers seed.
  • Pick up and deliver product to customers as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications: (required) 

  • Must meet minimum age requirement
  • High school diploma or GED
  • CDL or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Able to lift/carry up to 75lbs
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must meet DOT and Company requirements
  • Detail oriented with excellent communication skills both verbal and written.  
  • Able to work additional hours to meet business demands

Preferred Qualifications: (desired) 

  • Applicator's license
  • Chemical application education
  • Previous application experience
  • Farming background
  • Computer skills

Training provided:

  • Crop protection product mixing
  • Operation of application equipment
  • Safety Training
